Description: HCA, North Florida Division has an exceptional opportunity for a Division Quality Director for 22 hospitals in NFL,S GA, SC.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES - Support the Division Clinical Quality Operations and Performance Improvement organization in coordinating activities across Quality and related areas.

REPORTS TO - Division Vice President of Quality (VPQ)

SCOPE: North Florida Division facilities, Carolina and Jacksonville Market facilities

SUPERVISES - N/A

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
 Manage and coordinate Division and cross-facility Clinical Initiatives to realize HCA and Division quality objectives-across HCA delivery system (inpatient, outpatient, ASC, Imaging, etc)
 Manage quality staff at the division level, including clinical data analysts and QI/PI facilitators, and coordinate cross-facility leverage of quality resources and activities
 Lead the development of the quality infrastructure across the division and ensure an appropriate resource balance exists at the facility level supported by leveraged/shared resources at the Division
 Interface with corporate Clinical Operations and Quality to leverage corporate programs, tools and methodologies, align resources and drive participation in cross-HCA teams and initiatives (i.e. QSS, HAI, PSI)
 With the VPQ, represent the Division and facilities in providing input to help establish corporate quality programs and overall HCA priorities
 Work with the facilities to drive improvement on national and state/local publicly-reported measures, regulatory alignment, risk measures, focused clinical reporting, and HCA supported national programs (Leapfrog, IHI, 100K lives, etc)
 Lead the analysis of division and facility quality performance, quality and patient safety issues, clinical risk management, root cause analysis, improvement opportunities, and prioritization
 Form and manage cross-facility improvement initiatives and patient safety teams, and coordinate involvement
 Work with Clinical Leadership to develop and implement education/development focused on quality and patient safety, quality metrics, data utilization, continuous improvement, best practices, reporting requirements, compliance management
 Work with Division Leadership (Management Engineers, Physicians Recruitment and Sales, Service Line Executives, Outpatient/ASC Executives) to support cross-functional development of service line and clinical delivery programs enabling growth through differentiated quality delivery, outcomes, cost effectiveness, efficiency, patient and physician satisfaction

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Able to apply major quality improvement programs and frameworks with a care process perspective
• Analytical capability, process and data oriented
• Ability to visualize and work at a process level across functions, locations, services, resources
• Capable of managing and influencing behavior across multiple levels and professional backgrounds
• Able to manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary groups
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good understanding of clinical technology, clinical IT, quality systems, data management, business drives and relationships to quality and clinical delivery
• Comfortable navigating and influencing a complex relationship environment, effective influencing without authority
• Flexible and able to work across levels, functions, organizations, locations, virtually aligned resources and teams
• Responsive to shifting priorities and evolving needs in a complex environment

EXPERIENCE:
• Clinical degree with at least 5 years of clinical practice experience required
• Preference for advanced clinical degree and certifications, MPH, MHA or MBA, CPHQ, FACHE/CHE
• Leadership experience in clinical and/or administrative role in a large, (multi-) hospital system
• Experience in leading significant clinical practice change and/or quality improvement initiatives with a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and staff
• Experience in coordinating activities and involvement across a range of facilities, issues, clinical areas, and programs
• Significant experience with a major quality or performance improvement framework; preference for certification in a QI/PI methodology
• Operational experience in an environment with clinical IT and decision-support tools
• Experience with analyzing quality and clinical performance information, public reporting, national standards organizations, regulatory agencies and managing regulatory compliance
• Experience analyzing or planning clinical, operational and business alignment
