System is seeking a BC/BE Family Practitioner or BC/BE
Med-Peds with interest in both inpatient and outpatient
care. PALS, CALS, ACLS, ATLS, and RSI needed to back-up
the ED Physician Assistants. Prenatal care optional
with no OB. Patients go to Luther Midelfort - Mayo
Health System in Eau Claire to deliver. Physicians
work a 4-day (clinic scheduled) work week and typically
see patients between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Call of
1:5 may be expected. No first call in the E.D. Call
involves back up for mid-level providers in the E.D.
and is compensated. Procedures currently performed
include treadmills, D & C, minor office surgery,
simple fracture care, colposcopy, vasectomies, and
wound care.
The recently constructed clinic
building is attached to the hospital. Patients are
drawn from a four county area. Each physician spends
1/2 day per week at the Luther Midelfort-Mayo Health
System Chippewa Valley clinic located in Colfax, 17
miles southwest of Bloomer.

Valley has a wide range of services, including 24-hour
emergency and trauma care, urgent care, same-day surgery,
CT scanning, mammography, transitional care, cardiac
and pulmonary rehab, as well as occupational, speech,
respiratory and physical therapy. Electronic medical
record, PACS, and other on-line resources make it possible
to practice state-of-the-art medicine in a small town
atmosphere.
Luther Midelfort offers a complete

Bloomer has small town appeal with
a population of 3500. The growing community has an
excellent K-12 school system, and a first rate library.
Eau Claire is located 30 minutes south and the Twin
Cities are less than two hours west. The area offers
a multitude of four-season recreational activities
including a golf course, 4 parks, an ice rink, sledding
hill, snowmobile and cross-country trails. Bloomer
also has a beautiful 100 acre lake and a newly renovated
beach and beach house.
