TITLE: REGISTERED NURSE SUPERVISOR, PSYCHIATRIC (4287) CD (Vacancy at RICA Baltimore- Baltimore, MD 21229) SALARY: $ 51,044 - $73,259 (Grade 18) Starting Salary Negotiable CLOSING DATE: April 21, 2008 DESCRIPTION: RICA - Baltimore is a DHMH facility treating 12-18 year old youth with emotional and mental health issues. This position will supervise staff (RNs, LPNs and para-professional staff) on a girls' residential cottage of 15 beds. Primarily first shift, but may have to work some evenings and/or weekends. A Registered Nurse Supervisor is the supervisory level worker providing psychiatric nursing care in a State facility for a ward, cottage or unit on a 24-hour basis. The employee supervises Registered Nurses and licensed and non-licensed nursing staff. The employee works under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, Manager utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of nursing care in assigned unit. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Graduation from an approved School of Nursing. EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse to include one year in a supervisory, administrative or teaching capacity and two years providing psychiatric nursing care. LICENSE: Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4201 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215. A copy of current license MUST accompany application. NOTES: 1. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field may be substituted for one year of the general experience. 2. A Master's degree in Nursing or a related field may be substituted for two years of the general experience. 3.
