Be at the forefront of the BC Cancer Agency's care and services within our thriving community clinics. Through a unique partnership with the Interior Health Authority, BCCA has established four outstanding centres of care within host hospitals in Penticton, Vernon, Kamloops and Cranbrook. Working in partnership with Royal Inland Hospital (RIH), this is an exciting opportunity for an Oncologist who wishes to participate in a unique model of delivering oncology services in the Thompson/Cariboo Region of British Columbia. With a population base of 80,000, RIH is a Full-Service Referral Hospital offering high-level medical care with a long tradition of excellence in patient care. This opportunity is to join 2 other medical oncologists and a dedicated cancer care team in Kamloops. The Thompson/Cariboo Region offers one of the most beautiful settings for any activity that you can imagine. This location sets the stage for adventure all year round. Temperate winters are perfect for skiing and snowboarding at nearby world-class resorts. During the warm summer months, enjoy canoeing, mountain biking, golfing, hiking, and some of the best lake fishing available in BC. With major cities close by and Vancouver only four hours away, you can enjoy an abundance of cultural experiences, diverse culinary offerings, seasonal festivals and close proximity to award-winning vineyards. The Thompson/Cariboo Region offers anything and everything. If you're dreaming of it, the Thompson/Cariboo Region has it. You have obtained a certificate of Special Competence in Medical Oncology, or its international equivalent. You must also be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia and meet the requirements of credentialing by the Professional Advisory Committee of the BCCA. In accordance with Canadian Employment and Immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada; however, all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. A competitive compensation package is offered and will be commensurate with experience.
