BC Children's Hospital (BCCH) cares for the province's most acutely ill or injured children and youth, provides developmental and rehabilitation services to children and youth throughout BC, and offers a broad range of health services. BCCH also operates a wide number of specialized health programs, is a leading acute care teaching facility, and conducts research to advance health and care through the Child and Family Research Institute and in partnership with the University of British Columbia. The Department of Pediatrics encompasses the clinical department of BC Children's Hospital and BC Women's Hospital and the academic department of the University of British Columbia and includes clinical faculty located throughout the Province. UBC is the second-largest University in Canada with an undergraduate population of 30,000 students. The Medical school admits over 200 undergraduates per year and is in a process of continued expansion to 2010. As an established and expert physician, you possess the outstanding knowledge and experience to excel in the following role: Division Head - Pediatric Gastroenterology The University of British Columbia and BC Children's Hospital British Columbia, Canada. The University of British Columbia and BC Children's Hospital (BCCH) are seeking a Division Head who will provide academic and clinical leadership in Pediatric Gastroenterology - a provincial resource serving a total population base of 4.2 million. The Division provides a broad range of consultation services and inpatient care, and currently has six full-time faculty members with planned expansion to eight over the next year. With a strong research and fellowship training program, the Division offers an excellent opportunity for growth, with a major expansion of facilities being completed in December 2007. As the successful candidate for the position you will have demonstrated a commitment to clinical excellence in pediatric gastroenterology and possess the leadership and management skills to ensure high quality clinical service and a commitment to building excellence in research and education. You will have sub-specialty training in pediatric gastroenterology and be a Fellow or be eligible for Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. You will have an academic appointment in the Department of Pediatrics, University of British Columbia.
