Reporting to the Senior Director, Medical Affairs this position is responsible for the planning and management of functions related to physician contracts and compensation including Academic Medicine, Alternate Relationship Plans (ARP), Medical Leadership and Physician Agreements. The Director, Physician Contracts and Compensation provides guidance and supervision to direct reports and develops a corporate culture that promotes teamwork, enthusiasm, high performance and a genuine concern for producing quality work and service. You would also provide general administrative, budgetary and issues management support to the Senior Director, provide administrative leadership in the absence of the Senior Director, and develop recommendations and strategies that have fiscal and other implications.

Superior leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, teamwork, creativity and facilitation skills are required. Demonstrated competence in managing multiple projects, and the ability to conceptualize, self manage, prioritize and work in a fluid environment required. The successful candidate must have extensive experience in working with diverse aspects of health information, financial and utilization of data and research, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and senior executive.

A Master's Degree in a Health Science discipline, or Business Administration or equivalent academic preparation is required. Minimum three to five years experience in a senior management/policy role with knowledge of Alberta's Health Care System and its operation. An understanding of Alberta's physician payment procedures and issues, in addition to, the values, strategic direction and structure of the academic environment is preferred. Consideration will be given to appropriate combinations of education and experience.
