Reporting directly to the Director, Patient
Food Service you will be responsible for management
of the overall Patient Food Service Program for both
the Glenrose Rehabilitation (GRH) and Royal Alexandra
(RAH) hospital sites.
The manager coordinates activities and resources to promote an optimal patient meal experience as evidenced by patient satisfaction and other key performance indicators. We are seeking a strong leader who makes it a priority to achieve and maintain a great workplace and has the courage and tact to execute our vision that clients will be so impressed with the quality of food and service that they tell others. Patient Food Service operates within a Food Depot model receiving bulk and trayed meals from the off-site Food Service Centre. Various service delivery models are in place with the majority of patients on tray service (centralized and decentralized rethermalization) and a significant number of patients receiving alternative meal service delivery styles. Your clients are patients, Patient Food Service Supervisors and Staff, other areas of Regional Nutrition and Food Service, Program Directors/Managers for the RAH/GRH sites, other site and regional Departments, Clinical Dietitians and Physicians. Patient Food Service continues to plan for operational changes and services driven by business plans and future expansion. There may be a requirement, based on future need, for the incumbent to be reassigned to another facility to meet the operational needs of growth in Capital Health. Minimum Requirements: Completion of a baccalaureate degree or college diploma in a related discipline and education in business and healthcare/patient service management is essential. Dietitian qualifications desirable. The successful candidate will require a minimum of 5 years progressive management experience. Patient food service experience in a medium to large sized facility and/or multi-site operation are key requirements. Equivalencies will also be considered. Demonstrated proficiency with all Microsoft Office software and email/scheduling applications is required.
