Job Details: MANAGER OF MENTAL HEALTH/COMMUNITY WELLNESS

Reporting to the Director of Community Services & Chief Planner, the Manager of Mental Health/ Community Wellness is responsible for direct supervision of the following community programs including Mental Wellness Workers, Addictions Services and Child Protection/Probation.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor Degree in Humanities or other related degree (Masters Degree preferred) with a minimum of five years Child Protection and Mental Health experience in the Community Services Sector and a minimum of three years of supervisory experience.

Lead and direct the development of program goals, care standards and relevant policies and procedures.

Interpret the mental health and child and family services program policies to staff on a going basis and ensures that program goals and standards are met.

Administer and assist in the budget estimates for assigned programs.

Responsible for ensuring patient safety is always maintained.

Work co-operatively with other programs and partners such as Northern Medical Unit and Nunavut Health and Social Services, Churchill Community and ensure co-ordinations of assigned programs.

Ensure full program participation in regional projects (Accreditation, Quality Improvement, Risk Management, etc.)

Previous Child and Family Services experience in Manitoba or other Province and Territory plus child and youth therapy experience. This position also entails holding a small care load (average 40%).

Promote the vision, mission and values of the CHRA.

Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Community Services & Chief Planner.

This position will be subject to a Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record Checks.
