Medicine Program - Endocrinology Division
Salary: NS-30 ($24.91 - $31.98 per hour)
Hours of Work: 75 hours bi-weekly

Main Accountabilities:
The Diabetes Nurse Educator practices as part of an interdisciplinary team in providing specialized services to patients referred to the Diabetes Centre. Screening of referrals, prioritization of caseload, assessment and teaching of clients is required. The position also involves the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive diabetes education, management and care programs for people with diabetes and their support systems. This is a highly autonomous nursing position.

Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved university with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or graduation from a School of Nursing
- Current, active registration with the ARNNL
- Minimum of five (5) years current experience in an adult medical setting required, previous teaching experience would be considered an asset
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Demonstrated competency in organizational, leadership, interpersonal and decision-making skills
- CDE certification required
- Pump Trainer Certification or experience required
- Computer skills would be an asset
- Diabetes Management course would be an asset
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required
