IMMEDIATE position is available for a Burn Physician Assistant (PA) in the Surgery Department. The PA will work closely with the attending staff of the Arizona Burn Center in providing quality patient care services in burn care and related injuries.

This position would include employment through Medical Professional Associates of Arizona, P.C., (d/b/a/ MedPro), a 250+ physician multi-specialty group exclusively contracted to provide patient care and teaching at Maricopa Medical Center (MMC). MMC is a level 1 Burn/Trauma center located in metropolitan Phoenix.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform history and physical examinations.
2. Work closely with surgical residents and medical student staff.
3. Enter patient orders as directed by the attending surgeon.
4. Discuss results of medical imaging and laboratory studies with attendings and/or patients
5. Make daily hospital rounds and write notes on burn service patients, prominently in the Burn Intensive Care Unit. Therefore, a good fund of knowledge and experience is needed in care of the ICU patient as well as technical abilities to perform bedside procedures including bronchoscopy, central line, arterial line, and wound debridement/excision.
6. Assist the surgeon and resident staff in the operating room.
7. "Team mentality" with a focus on multidisciplinary approach to burn care.
