King's Daughters Medical Center is looking for an energetic vascular surgeon to join an existing practice. This is an employed position with a competitive salary. We are offering assistance with relocation and signing bonus. King's Daughters Medical Center is a 385 bed facility. We are a financially stable, not-for-profit organization that is locally owned and controlled. In 2006, we completed over $60 million dollars in new construction on campus. This construction included a 200,000 square ft. Heart and Vascular Center and Diagnostic Outpatient Imaging Center. KDMC is the largest employer east of Lexington, KY with over 3,600 employees and 250+ physicians on staff. For the last 4 years, KDMC has been named a Thompson Top 100 Hospital, based on quality of care and financial position. More recently, KDMC has been named Fortune 100 Best Companies to work for 2008, as well as the "Best Places to Work in Kentucky". KDMC is also one of four medical centers nationwide to be a finalist for the Foster G. McGaw Prize for community service. KDMC has been named one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals for Cardiovascular Care by Thomson Healthcare for the second year in a row, as well as, ranking among the top 5 percent nationwide for cardiac surgery programs for the second year in a row, by HealthGrades. KDMC's comprehensive Heart and Vascular Center was complete in May of 2006. It consists of 5 Cath Labs, 2 Vascular Labs, and 1 Electrophysiology Lab. KDMC is performing over 11,000 catherization procedures a year as well as also performing 850 cabbages a year : * 5,600 diagnostic heart catheterizations * 2,000 angioplasty/ stent procedures * 1,300 peripheral vascular catheterizations * 800 electrophysiology studies and interventions * 1,300 other cardiac tests and procedures Ashland, KY is a classic American city with a variety of cultural activities and recreational opportunities, while still having a small-town atmosphere, with some of the lowest crime rates in the nation. We also are centrally located among larger cities such as Lexington, Columbus, or Cincinnati, which are only a few hours away. There are many area schools to choose from. Six public school districts operate in this area of Kentucky, as well as several private schools and an active home-schooling network. There is also a two-year community and technical college in addition to several accredited four-year universities that are within a 30-minute drive. If you have a desire to play there is no need to travel to the "big city!" when you see what the Tri-State has to offer: excellent shopping malls with major department stores; youth and adult recreation programs; challenging private and public golf courses; beautiful state parks and lakes plus a large downtown arts district. There is major college football and basketball at Marshall University; the University of Kentucky and Morehead State. Professional baseball and football are in nearby Cincinnati.
