Job Summary: Participates in a variety of regional (Denver/Boulder and Colorado Springs local markets) and national (Care Management Institute [CMI]) projects/initiatives. Provides leadership and assistance to physicians, managers, and other providers in the Disease Management, Quality & Resource Management, and other clinical/service departments in the evaluation of interventions aimed at improving care to defined patient populations.

Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business/health care administration, health services with an emphasis in epidemiology, biostatistics, finance, information systems or public health, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of two to four years analytic experience in project management, program evaluation, quality improvement, practical use of research analyses and methods, data or statistical analysis, or cost benefit/effectiveness analysis. Proficient in the use of personal computer spreadsheet and presentation software and experience in developing applications for analytic processes; general knowledge of mainframe computer applications desired. Experienced with analysis of large electronic databases and use of statistical software. Experience with SAS required. Must possess excellent organization and presentation skills, including the ability to express complex analytic and technical information to non-technical as well as technical audiences; experienced in communicating with staff at all levels of an organization in the conducting, presenting, and implementing of strategic projects.

Essential Duties: Develops and maintains chronic condition registries and performs regional data collection and analyses for the CMI national outcomes studies, per Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CMI. Provides analytic support in the development of measures and targets for MOU with CMI and produces quarterly reports of progress against those targets. Designs analytic strategies to assess project/initiative requirements and impacts, including measurement of clinical, service and utilization outcomes, patterns of care, cost benefit/effectiveness, and tracking of performance trends over time. Develops technical specifications for local outcomes measurement and assists in their development for national outcomes measurement. Initiates development of PC-based databases; uses computer programming skills to extract data, construct and edit data sets, and perform complex queries in mainframe, PC, and network environments. Designs and coordinates data collection processes, including independent data collection. Prepares reports to document evaluation strategies and present results of analyses to local and national audiences; uses reporting graphics and statistical application software. Coordinates with IT regarding automation of registries and implementation of process improvements. Conducts studies to determine validity of analytic processes, including disease identification algorithms. Coordinates and conducts measurement of clinical outcomes and other performance indicators across clinical, service and analytic departments and groups both locally and nationally; facilitates the assurance of consistency in data collection, definitions, analyses, and reporting. Assists in the identification of industry trends; reviews literature to understand key clinical and technological issues; conducts research to determine feasibility and effectiveness of applications in the local health care delivery environment.

Schedule: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

Starting Salary Range: $5612-$7154 (Monthly)
