Key responsibilities include: • Planning, organizing
and directing overall programs and activities for
the Department of Pharmacy.
• Establishing a service
to optimize medication therapy and integrate best
practices into all patient settings and an environment
of trust, fairness, consistency and confidentiality
among team members.
• Reviewing, communicating
and implementing policies, procedures and standards
related to operations of Pharmacy. Interprets policies
and procedures to staff.
• Developing and operationalizing
plans for the Department of Pharmacy. Directing
and leading teams to achieve targeted results.
Establishing goals and aligns staff using techniques
and programs consistent with direction of organization.
Recognizing and rewarding desired performance.
• Reviewing and reporting
financial and operational data evaluating quality
of service, workloads revenue and expenses.
• Negotiations for VMC
as appropriate including preparing and signing
contracts Our successful candidate will have a proven track record of at least 10 years of senior leadership experience managing a pharmacy department in a large medical center. In addition qualified candidates must possess the following credentials: • Tennessee pharmacist
licensure and advanced degree
• Knowledge of pharmacy
educational programs, purchasing and cost control,
budgeting, automation, human resources, and strategic
planning initiatives regarding pharmacy operations
• Experience leading
hospital, clinic, and retail operations
• Expertise in strategic
planning and new program implementation
ASHP accredited hospital pharmacy residency preferred • Experience in an academic
