Flagstaff is a growing city (pop. 65000) nestled in the alpine high-country of northern Arizona, offering the ambience of a small college town, a mild climate (we enjoy over 300 days of sunshine a year) and an array of cultural activities. Our mountains, canyons and forests afford an active lifestyle; and, the Grand Canyon is in our backyard. The Phoenix metroplex, with all the amenities of big city life, is a two-hour drive south to the Sonoran Desert.

The practice is primarily office-based with an emphasis on dentoalveolar surgery, implants, hard and soft-tissue grafting and surgical pathology. I enjoy a satisfying scope-of-practice, including managing maxillofacial trauma, orofacial infections, and reconstructive surgery through privileges at Flagstaff Medical Center, our level one trauma center. Although Flagstaff is a regional referral center for a geographical catchment area of over 200,000 people, call duties have not been onerous.

To enjoy a full family life, office hours have usually been limited to 7:30 - 4:30 M,T,Th,F. I have considered evening and weekend hours to be detrimental to quality-of-life. We are a fee-for-service business, contracted only with Delta Dental. Avoiding HMOs, managed care and Medicaid has added to our quality-of-life by allowing for an efficiently-run office, low overhead, and a base of loyal referring doctors.

Why is the practice for sale? I have built a good name while making an excellent living for my family. Now, I am hoping to allocate more time both to family life and teaching responsibilities. Realistically, the practice cannot be run on a part-time basis, and adding an additional surgeon can only increase access to care. I envision a transition paced to allow ample time for you to gain the trust and loyalty of our dental community while ramping up to full productivity. I would stay on contractually as an associate.
