Description: Director, Managed Care and Reimbursement
ARCA biopharma, located in Denver, CO, is engaged in the development and commercialization of genomically-tailored therapies for heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases. We currently have an excellent opportunity for professional to direct ARCA's strategic planning and tactical programs for managed care and government contracting, pricing, product distribution, and federal and state reimbursement for Bucindolol.

Specifically, you will:
•Develop the strategic plans and create the tactical programs for managed care contracting and relationship building
•Initiate, analyze and recommend execution of managed care, government (e.g. VA, DoD) and other third party payer contracts and/or letters of agreements
•Identify key issues and develop recommendations regarding reimbursement and pricing programs to support our sales and marketing departments' strategic plans
•Interpret and analyze the latest CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) information regarding Medicare and Medicaid issues as it relates to reimbursement, rebates and pricing policies within the US healthcare system
•Evaluate current and proposed state (Medicaid) and federal regulations (Medicare) by monitoring key state and federal issues to determine their impact on reimbursement for ARCA and competing products
•Supervise Medicaid rebate compliance
•Monitor, analyze and provide expert counsel to both internal and external customers on full range of private health insurance policies ranging from fee-for-service to managed care programs
•Hire and manage outside consultants who provide additional expertise in reimbursement and health economics.


This position requires:

•A Bachelor's degree (graduate degree preferred)
•5-7 years experience in healthcare reimbursement
•Comprehensive understanding of managed care and government contracting, Medicare, Medicaid government rebate regulations (particularly Part D), pricing, and third party payor agreements
•Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand the payer contracts and reimbursement policies, CMS and Medicare coding, state Medicaid provider regulations, and to provide guidance to sales and marketing
•Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills, strong organizational and prioritizing ability
