London Health Sciences Centre is one of Canada's
largest cardiac care facilities providing services
to more than 6,000 patients annually.
The University Hospital site includes a 48-bed cardiac surgery/cardiology unit providing care to cardiac patients, including those who have undergone heart surgery. The cardiac surgery program at LHSC is well known for its pioneering and continuing work in minimally invasive and robotic surgical methods. Reporting to the Program Director this exciting opportunity includes responsibility for the management of human and material resources, developing and monitoring of the operating and capital equipment plans, quality improvement initiatives, evidence based practice, promotion and support of clinical research utilization, and risk and utilization management activities. A major focus of the role is fostering effective working relationships and linkages within teams, with other teams and departments across the organization and with community and regional partners. The Manager will be instrumental in implementing the vision, mission and strategic plan. Key Competencies: • Participatory leadership, team building and organizational skills • Self directed and highly motivated with effective communication skills, both written and oral • Highly developed critical thinking skills and ability to conceptualize and analyze problems • Excellent problem solving, planning and evaluation skills • Ability to facilitate organizational change • Ability to work and communicate collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team environment • Ability to establish relationships with a variety of contacts including physicians, leaders, community partners, and other facilities to share learnings and establish best practice Qualifications: • Baccalaureate in a relevant field; Master's degree preferred. • Current certificate of registration from a College recognized under the Regulated Health Professions Act • 5 years progressive experience in a leadership role • Previous cardiac care experience in an acute care academic teaching hospital setting an asset • An equivalent combination of education and experience as recognized by LHSC may be considered • Demonstrated commitment to the development of professional practice, professional development, life long learning and excellence in patient care • Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently manage human and fiscal resources • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis Your interest in this opportunity is appreciated.
