Weekends: Every Other On Call: No Position Start Date: October 2008 Salary: 32.02 - 48.03 Position Start Date: 2007 - 2008 Length of Assignment: 3 - 6 or 9 months Our Emergency Department, the only 'base' ED station within 180 miles, treats over 61,000 patients per year and incorporates such advanced technologies as the MedHost patient tracking and electronic nurse documentation systems and Spacelab cardiac monitoring systems. The ED consists of a 21 bed acute, 9 bed semi-urgent, and 7 bed non-urgent area. We have both - 12hr day shifts and 12hr night shifts available Job Description: Performs assessments focusing on the physical and psychosocial, spiritual and cultural health status of the patient in an ongoing, timely, and systematic manner as evidenced by documentation. Participates in formulating an outcome-based plan of care which is prioritized and can be based on nursing. Directs other health team members, including Business Associates, Clinical Associates, and Team Associates, in the provision of patient care, team activities, and plans of care. Implements care in a knowledgeable and skillful manner, as evidenced by team feedback and documentation, and patient feedback. Evaluates effectiveness of care given by self and other health team members, in progressing patient toward outcomes. Utilizes the nursing process to compare patient response with observable outcomes which are specified in the plan of care as evidenced by documentation Identifies initial and ongoing patient/family/significant other's education needs as an integral part of care and implements appropriate measures to meet these as evidenced by documentation. Initiates discharge planning based upon admission assessment, makes appropriate referrals and monitors patient/family/significant other's progress and readiness for discharge, collaborating with health team members, as appropriate. Documentation is performed as required. Performing concise, accurate and legible documentation according to standards designated for pertinent circumstances as evidenced by audit.
