Job Details: Clinical Manager - Forensic Community Reintegration Unit (FCRU)

 
Location: Whitby, Ontario
Description: Whitby Mental Health Centre is seeking a Clinical Manager for a minimum secure unit, the Forensic Community Reintegration Unit (FCRU), in the Forensic Program.

Whitby Mental Health Centre (WMHC) is a public hospital that serves a population of 2.8 million residents. WMHC provides a range of specialized mental health programs for inpatients and outpatients throughout a primary service area that includes Durham Region, York Region, Scarborough, Toronto, Haliburton, Northumberland, Peterborough Counties, and the City of Kawartha Lakes. Position Description:
Reporting to the Administrative Director, the successful candidate will have a leadership role in the Forensic Program. The manager will be responsible for: evaluating and developing services; providing leadership and coordinating the interdisciplinary team; managing human resources, including recruitment, career development, and performance management; providing leadership in team planning, development, implementation, and evaluation; assume a lead role in quality improvement initiatives in alignment with the strategic directions of the Centre. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. You will have financial responsibility for developing and monitoring the budget. You will be responsible for the identification and development of educational requirements and for providing clinical supervision of members of the clinical team, in collaboration with the Professional Practice Leaders.

In the role of Clinical Manager, you will provide exemplary clinical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team, apply your well-honed management skills in a unionized setting, support consultation to internal/external stakeholders on all aspects of services to individuals who are identified as having a mental illness and have come in contact with the law, and continuously ensure that the focus of our services remains achieving excellence in all aspects of our service delivery on both a strategic and operational level. You must be able to work in a collaborative, open and client-centered approach with patients, families, community stakeholders and staff of multiple disciplines alike.

Qualifications:
A post-secondary degree in Nursing (B.Sc.N.) is a requirement for this position. Managerial experience in the field on a front-line level would be an asset. Proficiency in the management of budget and statistical data and managing in a unionized environment is a definite asset. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are necessary.
