Clinical Research Coordinator
Partners Research & Education Program (PREP) has an opening for a Clinical Research Coordinator. The position will be based at our Pentucket Medical Associates location in Haverhill, MA and will assist with the recruitment, management and follow-up of patients involved in clinical trials. Duties include: 1. Develop detailed knowledge of protocols for multiple research studies. Travel to investigator meetings is required. 2. Manage patient identification, recruitment, and retention for the various clinical research protocols under his / her responsibility. This will require detailed chart review of potential patient records, calling referring physicians, discussing patients with their physicians, and calling patients and discussing the trial with them. 3. Review patient charts, communicate with physicians to determine patient eligibility. Assist in the consent process with the investigators. 4. Communicate with study physicians and other personnel on a daily basis regarding scheduling of patients, progress of studies, and problems as they develop. 5. Abstract data from patient medical records for completion of source documentation and CRFs. 6. Complete weekly and monthly reports as needed. 7. Conduct research activities including basic assessment of patients status, obtain vitals (blood pressure, pulse, weight, height), medical/medication history, ECG, phlebotomy, spinning and packaging blood samples for shipment to central laboratory, patient education, teaching and instruction, follow-up, and schedule patient visits. 8. Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with study subjects, physicians, and other office personnel. 9. Complete and maintain copies of all study records and original documentation. 10. Assist in preparation and presentation for sponsor/CRO/FDA site visits & audits. Assist in tracking study drug supplies and appropriate accountability records, and storage. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent medical or research experience. - Clinical trial experience preferred. - Some overnight travel to investigator meetings is REQUIRED. - Must be detail oriented and have excellent writing, documentation, and organizational skills. - Excellent organization skills and independent decision making to ensure smooth function of the clinical tasks are essential. - Must have aptitude for technical problem solving and the skills required for independent scientific research. - Must have excellent interpersonal skills. - Knowledge of, or willingness and desire to learn, simple computer skills including word processing, data entry and simple data analysis. - Ability to function independently with in a fast-paced, high volume, changing environment, develop timelines and meet deadlines. - Ability to handle confidential information.
