Job Summary: Manage and coordinate the resources and processes to deliver software releases of 3M Health Information Systems, Inc. product suite targeting the North American, Western European and Asia Pacific Health Information Exchange markets. Serve as the technical lead in all customer meetings with the U.S. Department of Defense which has implemented our health information exchange system applications as the foundation of its worldwide integrated healthcare delivery system. Evolve the existing health information exchange system applications and architecture in the areas of: web portal plug-and-play, distributed databases, additional data sets/types, and international product requirements. Compensation and Benefits Information: This position is a 3M Health Information Systems, Inc position and is therefore not a 3M benefited position. Basic/Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field • Minimum of 5 years of management / leadership experience in a software development organization required Preferred Qualifications: • EMR software development and/or related healthcare software experience with a large Government project strongly preferred • Large/enterprise application development experience preferred • Strong understanding of the software development cycle • Strong leadership, project management skills, time management, and problem solving skills • Experience in computer programming using Java, .net, or other web application frameworks • Project management experience (including PMP certification) desired • Experience with programming health information systems and data interoperability desirable Performance (SMART) Objectives: The following describes the most important objectives the person filling this position will need to meet within the first year in order to be successful in the position: 30-60 days: Demonstrate a basic understanding of the Care Innovation application with a presentation to the business unit manager. 60-90 days: Demonstrate a complete understanding of the Care Innovation application. Demonstrate leadership abilities to our commercial and government clients with the deployment of software enhancements and fixes that are coordinated based upon release schedules. Establish good working relationships with the government prime integrator, government program offices, and the 3M federal office in Falls Church VA 90-180 days: Demonstrate a software release plan that meets the future needs of our commercial and government clients.
