Description: The Burnaby Centre for Mental Health & Addiction is a new and unique facility that offers health care professionals the opportunity to work with and support clients to become well and return to community life.

Located at the Burnaby Centre for Mental Health and Addictions, the Physiotherapist is responsible to assess clients who are seriously affected by substance use and mental health problems for physical status, functional abilities, needs, and goals utilizing an evidence-based approach. Performs examinations, administers standardized tests and measures, identifies the client's desired functional status and quality of life, and monitors health for significant change to ensure improvement in clients functional independence and physical performance. Analyzes client's needs, establishes the physical therapy diagnosis and prognosis, and develops an evidence-based, outcome-focused intervention strategy. Implements interventions in accordance with established treatment guidelines and educates clients regarding self-management, health promotion and injury/disability prevention. Maintains a variety of records including client files; gathers information, enters data into computerized databases and/or documents information into approved formats according to the College of Physical Therapist of BC practice standards.

Qualifications:
Baccalaureate in Physical Therapy or Rehabilitation Sciences from a recognized program.
Current and ongoing registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC). Valid BC Driver's License. Local travel requires the use of a personal vehicle.
