Description: Set on a beautiful 300-acre campus north of Wilmington, Delaware, the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children has 180 inpatient beds and offers all the major specialties of pediatric medicine, surgery and dentistry.
The duPont Hospital is operated by Nemours, which provides institutions and services to improve the health of children. Employing over 400 pediatric physicians, subspecialists and surgeons, Nemours cared for approximately a quarter of a million children during nearly one million encounters in 2005, making Nemours one of the nation's largest children's health systems.

In addition to the hospital, Nemours operates the Nemours Children's Clinic-Delaware Valley, which provides pediatric primary and specialty care at locations throughout Delaware, southeastern Pennsylvania, and southern New Jersey, and Nemours Children's Clinics-Florida, which provide pediatric subspecialty care in Jacksonville, Orlando and Pensacola.

This position is responsible for: Coordinates, implements and completes clinical research data collection, document preparation and maintenance as related to the Diabetes Education Certification Program. Must do the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Diabetes Self Management Entity at all sites. Responsible for regulatory reseach coordinator duties that involve direct contact with sponsors and preparation, collecting data, keeping records, and performing an anlysis for research studies as directed by the Division Chief of Endocrinology.

1. Must perform research and administrative duties involved in the data collection in Clini-Pro (diabetes education database), document preparation and maintenance as related to the Diabetes Education ADA Certification Program.

2. Maintain all documentation records for ADA certification including annual reviews, annual plans, CQI reports, maintenance of instructor CEU requirements and program revisions and updates and prepare required materials for the ADA Accreditation.

3. Develop and present training classes for diabetes patients for self management by counseling patients and families on nutritional modifications and tracking the progress of established goals (if RD - N/A if BS).

4. Submit pump contract invoices to the pump companies and work with Administrator on contract negotiations. Monitor reimbursement of all diabetes education programs.

5. Coordinates the publication of the newsletter and arrangements for the group evening diabetes networking nights with the appropriate resources in a timely manner.

6. Organizes and coordinates Annual Board Meeting each year based on ADA requirements.

7. Actively pursues continuing education and personal development programs to meet ADA requirements and research studies.

8. Maintains templates for diabetes educators to meet the needs of the patients under the direction of the Division Chief and Nurse Manager.

9. Prepares IRB regulatory paperwork and submits it for review based on the IRB schedule after approved by Primary Investigator. Direct contact with Sponsors to maintain active studies. Works closely with IRB to submit paperwork for research studies under primary investigator.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
RD or BS required. Must meet CEU requirements per the ADA Certification Program, if without credential of a CDE. CDE should be obtained within 6 month of eligibility (if RD).All candidates must have academic preparation or experience with persons with chronic disease and program management.

Must have at least 6 months of related experience.

Must be able to work independently and set priorities.
