Marriage and Family Therapist Psychological Health PhyAmerica Government Services is currently recruiting Marriage and Family Therapists for possible opportunities with the Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury (PHTBI) program at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. The program seeks to address gaps in the care available for the prevalent injuries among combatants from the global war on terrorism. Through adoption of risk based staffing models and a uniform, best practice standard of care across DOD, the program seeks to ensure easy, rapid access to PH and TBI care for all beneficiaries and to ensure that transition across networks of care recognizes the unique care coordination and case management requirements for PH and TBI patients. HOURS: Monday - Friday, 6:30am-8:00pm (8.5 hour shift) RESPONSIBILITIES: Consultation, differential diagnosis and treatment planning within the context of family systems for all disorders defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. To include but not limited to: Interviewing Psychosocial and family history taking Mental status evaluation Major types of psychotherapy including short and long term, psychodynamic, family, marital, group, individual and behavioral Crisis intervention Individual and family case management Command and community consultation (e.g. health promotion, prevention services and substance abuse counseling) Discharge planning QUALIFICATIONS: Have a minimum of a Master's degree in marriage and family therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), or a qualifying graduate degree in an allied mental health field from a regionally accredited education institution in conjunction with a program of marriage and family therapy study that is equivalent to the COAMFTE standards, as defined by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Have at least two years postgraduate experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist within the preceding three years.
