Pikes Peak Mental Health Center, located in Colorado Springs, blends 135 year of community mental health commitment with ideals of recovery, family systems, and community integration. Due to significant growth of our community over the past few years, we are actively recruiting for: Psychiatric Nurse Prescribers Job Description: Provides psychiatric evaluation and diagnostic assessment offering psychotropic treatment options and input to treatment plan when appropriate. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team and may provide clinical supervision to members of the team. Demonstrates the ability to perform, analyze and document findings for mental health and substance abuse assessments and interventions as appropriate for specialty training and population served. Experience - Licensed prescriber (CNS/RXN, NP) in good standing and with no restrictions in the state of Colorado. - Specialty training and Certification in specialty areas: Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, or Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing - Experienced working within certified training area in a psychiatric setting - Knowledge and competency in the psychiatric assessment and treatment of populations served. - Embraces organizational and professional standards of practice which may include philosophies of community psychiatry, evidence bases practices, recovery, resilience, family systems, interdisciplinary team work, etc. - Knowledge of theoretical and pharmacologic issues related to clinical treatment of common psychiatric disorders - Experience in various treatment modalities appropriate for specified population utilizing strength-based therapeutic approaches. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to be computer literate and type 25+ w.p.m. PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: - Experience in supervision of other psychiatric prescribers. - Specialty certification or training in areas of: child, adult, family, or geriatric psychiatry, substance abuse, forensics, emergency psychiatry, alternative & amp, complimentary medicine, women's health, or integrated care. - Experience in community mental health, recovery models of care, resilience theory.
