Denver Health (DH) is seeking a national leader
in Emergency Medicine to be Director of the Department
of Emergency Medicine, which is recognized for its
excellence
The Department oversees a busy emergency department, the pre-hospital care system for the City and County of Denver including an EMT/para-medic school, a highly-competitive residency and fellowship program and a growing research portfolio particularly in emergency preparedness. DH is a model integrated urban safety net health care system that serves as a Level I trauma center for the Rocky Mountain Region. The system includes a 500 bed acute care hospital, eight community health centers, the public health department, the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center, a 100 bed non-medical detoxification center, the Rocky Mountain Center for the Medical Response to Terrorism, Mass Casualties and Epidemics, and an HMO. The system serves 150,000 users. DH is formally affiliated with the University of Colorado, School of Medicine and all faculty have full-time academic appointments. Candidates must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, have a distinguished record in clinical care, teaching and research and have demonstrated excellence in leadership. Candidates must currently be Associate Professors or Professors of Emergency Medicine.
