We are in need of Psychiatrists at VA hospitals as well as Department of Defense facilities. Psychiatrist Duties / Details: Duties will include: • Treatment and professional direction of outpatient/inpatient care as well as outpatient/inpatient care consultations. • Provide professional direction and participate in the treatment team to evaluate, develop and implement treatment plans. • Develop and implement follow-up plans. • Participate in organization meetings and duties of the VA Medical Center as required. Clinical competence will include: • Psychiatric Examinations • Diagnostic Formulation • Therapeutic Plan • Patient Management • Consultations • Record Keeping/electronic medical records • Current practice experience with acute outpatient and inpatient treatment with working knowledge of current pharmacology • Current practice experience in completion of involuntary commitment procedures per state statutes. The psychiatrist may answer inpatient consultations. Other duties, as assigned by mutual agreement between the locum tenen and the Associate Chief and/or Assistant Chief, Mental Health Service Line. Contractor will act in compliance with all 'Medical Staff Bylaws' of the VAMC. The contract physicians will be required to enter all reports and incorporation into the patient's record and will satisfy VHA and medical center policies. The provision of quality clinical services will be monitored through patient satisfaction review, periodic review of patient records, and the medical center peer review process. The work of the contract physician will be reviewed by the Chief, Mental Health Service Line and/or his designee. Findings will be maintained by the COTR. QUALIFICATIONS. Personnel assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract shall be licensed in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. Qualified personnel must be American citizens (or offer evidence of a green card). Contractor's employee(s) shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the Government's requirements, to include the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently. The qualifications of such personnel shall also be subject to review by the VA Medical Center, Chief of Staff and approval by the VA Medical Center Director. b. Personnel performing these services shall be a board certified or board eligible Psychiatrist and must meet the credentialing/privileging requirements of the VA Medical Center before commencing work. The licensee must have an active, current, full and unrestricted license to practice the individual's profession. Applicants must provide evidence of at least one full, active, current and unrestricted licensure, registration, certification, and/or other relevant credentials, for verification prior to appointment and throughout the employment process, as requested. They must agree to accept the professional obligations delineated in the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations provided to them. They are responsible for keeping the Department of Veterans Affairs apprised of anything that would adversely affect or otherwise limit their clinical privileges. Note: Failure to keep VA fully informed on these matters may result in administrative or disciplinary action. Each applicant possessing a DEA certificate will document on the appropriate VA employment form, information about the current or most recent DEA certificate. Any applicant whose DEA certification (Federal and/or State) has ever been revoked, suspended, limited, restricted in any way, or voluntarily or involuntarily relinquished, or not renewed, will be required to furnish a written explanation at the time of filing the employment application and at the time of reappraisal.
