Description:
The Registered Dietitian Health Coach provides confidential, unbiased up-to-date information to assist individuals telephonically with dietary related concerns. The primary focus is to confidentially counsel and guide a caller through their healthcare dietary choices in order for them to be a more active and informed participant in the healthcare process. This includes assisting a caller in managing their dietary control of chronic or serious medical conditions, help in preparing them for important discussions with their doctor, and general dietetic related information and management. In order to assist a caller with a combination of dietary problems it may be necessary to coordinate information into a plan that meets all of their needs. Additionally, a caller should be encouraged to investigate and use local and Internet sources if appropriate and available.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Counsel and guide a caller through their healthcare dietary choices by accessing the Healthwise Knowledgebase, library resources, and the Internet for research.
-Seek opportunities to increase knowledge and expertise in a specialty area. This includes the dissemination of information to the Health Coach team.
-Participate in case conferences as pertinent and in conjunction with peers and the Director of Clinical Services.
-Participate (as needed) in marketing presentations and health fairs.
-Function as a resource and mentor to new employees, as well as assess the ongoing educational needs of the department.
-Attend and participate in staff meetings.
-Attend and participate in quarterly corporate meetings.
-Assist in the development of department annual goals and identification of outcomes for continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications:
-BS and RD, LD and preferably with a masters and/or C.D.E.
-Minimum of 8-10 years of clinical experience.
-Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability in education and counseling of individuals.
-Knowledge of windows-based computer software and good typing skills.
