Job Details: Staff Sonographer

A staff sonographer provides noninvasive vascular/cardiac testing using ultrasound skills an other noninvasive testing modalities knowledge.

This individual collaborates with customers to assure quality testing. The incumbent has access to confidential information and makes decisions independently and in collaboration with customers.

This individual works under the direct supervision of the Supervisor. Works with patients of all ages. Provides quality cardiac/vascular testing ultrasound imaging, transesophageal echocardiography, pulse volume recordings, segmental pressures and TCPO2 monitoring.

Extensive documentation of patient data for each exam is required. Communicates with customers and contributes to the ongoing development of team members and the quality improvement process. Extensive data entry and retrieval. Must be able to distinguish colors, numbers and symbols.

Education: An individual who holds an American registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography credential is required. An RVT or RDCS is preferred. A minimum 2-year allied Health degree is preferred. Continuing education must be maintained according to lab accreditation guidelines.

Experience: Minimum 1-year experience is preferred.
