Description: The Addictions Foundation of Manitoba is a crown agency which contributes to the health and well being of Manitobans by addressing the harm associated with addictions through education, prevention, rehabilitation and research.

The AFM is seeking a permanent part-time physician service for clients attending the m.i.n.e. (Methadone Intervention & Needle Exchange) program, an outpatient clinic for individuals dealing with opiate addiction.

As a member of a team, the physician is responsible for the medical assessment of clients to determine their suitability for methadone maintenance therapy and ongoing medical care for clients.

The m.i.n.e. program is supported by several part-time Physicians, full-time Nurses, a Counsellor, Secretary and Program Supervisor.

Hours of work are flexible within a Monday-Friday daytime schedule. As the program is staffed with existing part-time physicians, additional physician services for approximately 4 - 15 hours/week are required. Training and mentoring support is available.

Salary:
Sessional fees in accordance with current MMA Rates.

Qualifications:
• Must be eligible for registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
• License to prescribe methadone within a methadone maintenance therapy program is required. Assistance to obtain this will be provided.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
• Experience in the area of addictions is considered an asset
