Description:
One of the largest, most comprehensive and
innovative anesthesiology and pain management practices
in the Carolinas seeks Director of Business Development
The Director of Business Development will report directly to the Executive Director and indirectly to the Chief Executive Officer. The Director will work closely with the Marketing Department. The Director will be responsible for providing effective communication and leadership for up to five direct reports. The Director will be fully responsible for all aspects of new business development activities in relation to Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants and Southeast Pain Care. He/She will also work with Quantum management to market and sell Quantum products and service including the Clinical Navigation System™. The Director is charged with developing strategies for developing new business relationships; evaluating the market; market penetration; and existing business containment. The Director of Business Development will: • provide expert leadership in developing research initiatives to determine new lines of business; • make recommendations regarding the package of existing business concepts for replication across the Southeast; • oversee the development of templates for new site launches; • participate in the package and presentation of new business offerings (conducting presentations, developing collateral and sales materials, responding to RFPs); • work closely with Director of Marketing to develop and execute marketing/sales plan including travel and presentation of product capabilities; • attend trade shows for pipeline development; • oversee the launch of new pain management and anesthesia sites and manage operational and marketing concerns; • provide direction toward client relationship management with administrative contacts at new sites; • have budget and pro forma responsibility. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter with entrepreneurial skills and strong analytical and problem solving skills. He/She will have excellent oral, written and presentation skills, and will work at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with all employees. He/She will also maintain and ensure patient confidentiality at all times and comply with all organizational policies, including ethical business practices. The following are the key professional requirements: • minimum of five years of healthcare business development experience with a proven track record and established contacts to produce immediate results; • experience building relationships with executive leadership of hospitals and other healthcare organizations; • experience working with physicians and nurses is required; • background in finance, product development, marketing or sales experience of products or services to hospitals and/or clinical practices; • undergraduate degree in business finance, marketing or health sciences; MBA or MHA preferred; • proven experience for being the driving force in the development of new, profitable business from prospects and under-penetrated clients; • experience with generating cross-sell opportunities by maintaining strong working relationships; • experience managing a staff, as well as experience in developing a winning team; • experience in consultative solution sales, as well as hunting and channeling environments; • possess the ability to educate organizations with knowledge of the tools offered by standardized care around evidence-based practice.
