Women's Hospital, a division of Moses Cone Health System, in Greensboro, NC is recruiting an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join a well-established, full-scope OB/GYN Teaching and Clinical service that includes 7 OB/GYNs and 3 CNMs. Responsibilities include but not limited to assisting and providing direct services to low risk and high risk pregnant women and their families throughout the childbearing process. This position is also accountable for performing medical acts as allowed by law and regulations governing Nurse Midwives. In addition, this position provides education and preceptor support for medical students, residents, and physician assistant students. This position serves the following patient care categories: adolescent and adult. Call is 6 times per month. The Teaching service is responsible for approximately 25% of the 6000 deliveries performed each year at the Women's Hospital and most of the patients covered by the teaching service are indigent or high-risk populations. As the state's first freestanding hospital dedicated to women, Women's Hospital is 145-bed facility dedicated to providing state-of-the-art, compassionate and personalized care to women in every stage of their lives. Women's Hospital programs and services include: • 36-bed Level III NICU;
family-centered maternity care;
• maternal and infant
specialists for difficult pregnancies;
• high-risk obstetrical
program;
• 24-hour, in-house anesthesia
care including epidural services;
• breastfeeding consultants
for inpatient and outpatient consultation;
• day surgery program;
• medical and surgical
care inpatient surgical program featuring laser
and laparoscopic procedures;
• and an adult intensive
care. The Women's Education Center offers seminars, programs, mid-life services and support groups, and a prenatal/postpartum education program offering courses on prepared childbirth, breastfeeding and maternity exercise. Greensboro is a city of 220,000 people, with a regional population of approximately 1 million. It is located in the "Triad" of North Carolina, within easy driving distance of both the mountains and beaches.
