Obtains and manages critical data and information,
including surveillance for infections.
• Develops
and recommends policies and procedures.
• Directly
intervenes to prevent infections.
• Educates
and trains health care workers, patients, and non-medical
caregivers about principles of infection control
Must
have a current license or registration as a medical
technologist, physician, or BSN. A baccalaureate degree
with 3 years Med/surgical and/or infection control
experience OR MT with 5 years Microbiology experience
with epidemiology. CIC certification or eligibility
for certification required. Computer expertise in data
base management, data entry into multiple databases,
spreadsheet development for data analysis and graphic
presentation, Internet data searches and the ability
to develop and use Power Point presentations.
