Description:
The medical dosimetrist is a member of the
cancer care team who has knowledge of the overall characteristics
and clinical relevance of radiation oncology treatment
and planning.
Joining the current compliment of 3 full time medical dosimetrists, the incumbent will be responsible for providing computerized radiation plans of patients undergoing radiation therapy for cancer treatment. In addition to working with radiation therapists, medical physicists, and radiation oncologists, the incumbent will assist in the teaching of medical dosimetry to radiotherapy students, radiation therapists, and radiation oncology residents. Qualifications: *Graduate of a recognized radiotherapy technical program (RT(T)) with current CAMRT registration or BSc in Physics *Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) in good standing with the American Association of Medical Dosimetrist (AAMD), or certification as Dosimetry Specialist (DSp) with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologist (CAMRT) is required *Two years relevant experience required *Experience with the Varian Eclipse Treatment Planning System preferred Hours of Work: Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly Salary: $36.7858 - $39.8727 hourly This is a NSGEU Bargaining unit position.
