This 300 bed community teaching hospital is currently seeking an Associate Director of Trauma. This is a hospital employed position.

- Medical Center has a free standing fully accredited general surgery residency program and maintains ACS COT Level II Trauma Center designation, seeing approximately 700 trauma admissions a year. The ER sees approximately 57K annually.

- Currently there is one dedicated Trauma Surgeon with plans to hire additional staff. The General Surgeons participate in trauma call. Medical center has 8 Operating rooms

- This is an excellent opportunity to live and work in an area known for its diverse cultural and recreational activities, just 2 hours from both Boston and New York City.

2. What other administrative support is in place? FULLY VERIFIED ACS LEVEL II PROGRAM 650 CASES LAST YEAR WITH STRONG SUPPORT FROM ADMINISTRATION TRAUMA NURSE COORDINATOR ALSO HAS 1 FTE FOR TRAUMA DATABASE MANAGEMENT
3. Who takes trauma call? All General Surgeons at hospital.
4. Is there adequate surgical subspecialty support? 24/7 NEUROSURGERY COVERAGE, 4 PLASTIC SURGEONS (2 HAND BOARDED) FULL ORTHO COVERAGE, ENT UROLOGY ETC
5. Who does this position report to? Chairman of Surgery
6. How many residents are in the program? 14

- Interested candidates should have American Board of Surgery certification or eligibility, ATLS (instructor preferred), trauma fellowship/added qualifications in critical care, and a strong commitment to surgical education.
