Position Summary: Responsible for the administration, coordination and supervision of the Central Pharmacy Services. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Required Education/Training: B.S. degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy. Completion of a hospital pharmacy residency. Current DC license as a Pharmacist.

Required Experience: 1 year experience as a hospital pharmacist, in a progressive clinical environment. Some supervisory experience helpful. Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology and related sciences. Knowledge of chemical, biological, and comparative therapeutic properties of a wide range of drugs. Knowledge of management, and Federal/Local laws and regulations. Excellent interpersonal skills. Good communication skills; ability to provide direction to others; ability to work under stress. Ability to perform computerized procedures. Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care for patients in the following age groups; geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and neonate. Must demonstrate knowledge in the relationship of age and the proper selection of drugs and drug pharmacokinetics in various age groups. Annual performance appraisals will measure the level of knowledge and skills maintained through the use of criteria based job standards. Employees must maintain a satisfactory level of knowledge and skills to continue employment.
