The Mood & Anxiety Program - Outpatient Tillsonburg Clinic is an out-patient service working with the seriously mentally ill client population and their families/significant relationships. The role of the social worker includes assisting in-patient teams to transition clients to the community and maintaining clients in the community by providing psychotherapy, psycho-education, supportive counseling, and collaboration with community agencies. Using the principles of client-centered care, the successful candidate will use their knowledge of psycho-social rehabilitation to facilitate the recovery process of clients who suffer from mental illness.

In addition to clinical knowledge and skills, highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively both within an interdisciplinary team and autonomously are essential.

Essential Qualifications:
-Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
-In-depth knowledge of major mental illness from a biopsychosocial perspective
-Demonstrated skills, knowledge of and experience delivering a full range of high quality social work services to the seriously mentally ill and their families
-Skills in psychosocial assessment and treatment, basic knowledge of major mental illness, psychotropic medications and symptom management
-Excellent discharge planning skills and knowledge of community resources
-Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively within an interdisciplinary team
-Excellent organizational and communication skills
-Valid driver's licence for travel within catchment area

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience working with clients with addictions
-Knowledge of Oxford County social and health services network
-Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation
-Crisis intervention skills
