Job Purpose: Under general supervision and in collaboration with other members of the health care team, uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, directing, providing and evaluating nursing care for patients and coordinating nurses care activities with other health care disciplines. Education Requirements: Graduate of accredited nursing program Licensing/Certification Requirements: Must have current Oregon RN License upon hire. Must obtain BLS with AED Certification within 30 days of hire. Minimum Qualifications: Nine months recent Med/Surg or Mental Health experience. Demonstrates ability to lead patient focused groups related to Mental Health recovery. Demonstrates ability to set up and provide therapeutic milieu for mental health and occuring chemical dependency patients. Actively contributes to collaborative patient care within interdisciplinary team and with residential chemical dependency team as indicated. Coordinates with Residential Nursing Supervisors to provide coverage to adjust staffing levels as needed during shift. Successful completion of therapeutic interaction course within 3 months of hire. Knowledgeable about psychotropic medications and side effects. Must demonstrate warmth, cultural competence and responsiveness to customer needs. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing or related field. Computer keyboarding skills. Two years recent Mental Health inpatient or residential experience. Demonstrates ability with mental health diagnoses and care of the patient. Certification in Mental Health Experience in Acute Care or Skilled nursing Hours/Shift:
Fulltime 40 hours per week. Evening shift;
schedule varies depending upon departments needs.
