Job Purpose: Under the direction of the Residential Clinical Services Manager, coordinates admissions and appropriate level of care for patients on the mental health and addictions residential facility. Through the manager delegation, the Admissions Coordinator has the authority and responsibility to:: Facilitate the coordination of admissions and level of care to the facility. Assure admission criteria for the residential treatment facility is met. Understand the Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial payors benefits source. Adhere to regulatory requirements. Maintain knowledge of current status of the residential facility and services regarding coordination of admission process and flow of communication Education requirements: Masters level degree (MSW, MA, MS, M.Ed) Minimum Qualifications: 2 years varied mental health or addiction clinical experience. Demonstrated competence in the area of mental health evaluation and referral one year. Documented appropriate interpersonal relations and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to problem solve in rapid, accurate manner. Demonstrated ability to delegate and facilitate patient flow (admit, transfer, DC). Ability to collaborate for effective outcomes. Must demonstrate warmth, cultural competence and responsiveness to customer needs. Preferred Qualification: Previous experience inpatient Mental Health Care setting one year. Clinical role with similar patient population five years. Intake and referral experience in a Mental Health care setting. Knowledge:: Mental health, chemical dependency and occuring assessment. Kaiser, public and commercial payors and authorization procedures. Skills/Ability:: Computer skills including electronic clinical documentation and Microsoft office programs.
