The Nurse Practitioner applies advanced knowledge/clinical
skills necessary to assess/manage the healthcare of high risk, acutely/chronically ill patients in both inpatient and outpatients settings.

3 Positions available:
-full-time position AM shift at physician office--ideal candidate will assist with Occupational medicine initiatives in addition to the responsibilities at Medical Center Easley.

-full-time AM shift w/ weekday and weekend shift options

-part-time AM shift with Carolina Care Hospitalists--Ideal candidate will have experience in ICU/CCU, ER, Med/Surg or other in-patient unit. Min. 3 years clinical experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
œ Performs health histories, physical exams, patient teaching and discharge planning. Orders, interprets and follows up on lab tests and results. Performs selected procedures and documents care orally and in writing. Initiates emergency measures as indicated. Recognizes abnormalities that justify immediate referral for intervention by others.

œ Initiates, evaluates, reviews and changes orders for selected medications and diagnostic studies/ treatments within attending physician approved protocols.

œ Assesses, initiates and coordinates patient care on a daily basis under the supervision of the attending physician.

œ Requests consultations form all services as needed in collaboration with attending physician and/or established protocols.

œ Acts as a liaison with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals within hospital, providing education, communication and support for healthcare staff, patients and families. Directs patient management in conjunction with physician staff.


Requirements
Education: Bachelor degree in Nursing from accredited college/university; graduate of certified or accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Experience: 5-7 years nursing experience with 3 years experience as Nurse Practitioner; or Master degree in Clinical Nursing and 5 years nursing experience

Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: RN licensure in South Carolina and certification from nurse practitioner program

Special Training: ability to learn, teach and research; ability to solve problems and think analytically; must possess skills necessary to treat patients of all ages; ability to get along with others in a team situation
