Job Details: Under the supervision of the
attending physicians in the PICU, the incumbent serves
as an integral member of the PICU Healthcare Team.
Following established CCMC policies and protocols,
actively participates in direct patient care, patient/
family education and support, medical and nursing staff
education, performance improvement activities, and
clinical research. Participates in the management of
a caseload of PICU patients in conjunction with and
under the supervision of the Pediatric Critical Care
Medicine attending physician. Reports to Medical Director,
PICU.
Position requires a minimum of two years
of PICU staff experience in a tertiary care center.
Current State of Connecticut Physician Assistant licensure
is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR
in adult, child & infant. Current Pediatric Advanced
Life Support (PALS) certification from American Heart
Association-American Academy of Pediatrics (AHA-AAP).
Evidence of continuing professional growth through
membership and participation at the local and national
level in organizations focused on advanced nursing
practice and critical care nursing issues.
