St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, Illinois is seeking a board certified or board eligible urologist. You will have the option to be employed by St. Mary's Hospital or join an independent practice that is offering partnership. Shared call. Competitive compensation package with signing bonus and medical school loan forgiveness.

Founded in 1878 St. Mary's Hospital is part of the Hospital Sisters Health System that owns and operates eight hospitals in Illinois and five hospitals in Wisconsin.

24-hour patient care services include anesthesia, cardiology, emergency medicine, laboratory, med/surg ICU, pharmacy, radiology, respiratory care, skilled care, and inpatient and outpatient surgical care. St. Mary's also offers a full range of rehabilitation services, an on-site sports medicine clinic, adult day care center, sleep medicine center and full service pain center.

St. Mary's new medical office building is located north and west of the hospital and is connected by an indoor walkway to the hospital and the Lake Shore Medical Office Building. Ample parking is available adjacent to the building.

St. Mary's Hospital is JCAHO accredited.

With a population of 85,000 Decatur is the county seat as well as the business and employment center of Macon County. The city is located along Sangamon River which meets Lake Decatur, a beautiful recreation spot and site of many homes. Decatur is home to Millikan University and Richland Community College. Area employers include Caterpillar, Archer Daniels Midland, and Tate & Lyle.

Decatur is experiencing a revitalization of its suburbs and downtown. Commercial development is blossoming with Target, Best Buy, and Talbots all opening new stores. The heart of Decatur boasts new row homes, apartments and a renaissance of the downtown shopping district with the addition of unique shops, small business, bars and restaurants plus an art cinema and a renovation of the historic Lincoln Theater. Streets are being redone, some cobbled with red brick. The next downtown project, currently under construction, will be a multimillion-dollar office complex anchored by a local insurance company and bank.

Decatur Public Schools recently opened a $12 million dollar academy serving kindergarten through eighth-grade. The city takes pride in their variety of cultural and recreational activities which include an award winning park district, the Scovill Zoo, indoor sports center, new soccer complex, and visual and performing arts program.

It's an easy 2 hour drive to St. Louis and a little further to Chicago.
