Scope of practice includes care delivered in the preoperative, intraoperative, or postoperative arenas. Provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients of all ages and with all types of cardiac surgical conditions. Perform patient examinations, obtain surgical consents, perform and interpret diagnostic studies, first and second assist in cardiothoracic procedures, instruct and counsel patients and their families, respond to life-threatening situations, and facilitate the appropriate referral of patients, consistent with their supervising surgeon's scope of expertise and responsibility delegated to them. Requirements: Must have or be eligible for Pennsylvania and New Jersey State License, as well as NCCPA Certification. Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; emphasis in surgery preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to perform clinical and surgical skills requiring manual dexterity and knowledge of anatomy and physiology. The position will require you to be on-call from home. New Graduates welcome.
