Long
Beach Memorial Medical Center and Miller Children's
Hospital have a combined bed capacity of 728 with current
plans for expansion. LBMMC/MCH are premiere teaching
and research centers of excellence, located in beautiful
Southern California. With over 5,000 employees on a
sprawling campus, we are seeking a highly experienced
professional, to assume the position of Vice President
of Facilities.
This challenging position will
be responsible for the construction, facility planning
and maintenance programs, at the two facilities. This
is a highly visible executive leadership position which
will interface with all levels within the organization
including Boards and Medical Executives. Responsibilities
will include oversight of all planning, design, construction,
renovation activities and maintenance, as well as providing
direction to the Campus Master Plan, specific project
planning, and programming of all major projects. This
position will also be responsible for several departments
including Plant Operations, Biomedical, Safety and
Property Management. The selected candidate will have
a minimum of 10 years extensive healthcare management
experience with hospital facilities with emphasis in
design, construction, and renovation. Proven strong
leadership skills. A BSEE is preferred, but other engineering
degrees will be considered. Technical working knowledge
of building systems, operations and maintenance, OSHPD,DHS,JCAHO,NFPD,
and California building codes is required. Proven fiscal
management skills including budget preparation, cost
estimates, and management of multiple large projects
within budget constraints is required.
