Job Details: Radiology Asset Manager

 
Description: The Asset Manager assumes a leadership role in all aspects of managing our numerous and diverse capital equipment and space requirements.
The UMMC Department of Radiology is home to a nationally and internationally recognized team of radiological specialists who provide comprehensive diagnostic imaging and treatment services throughout the University of Maryland Medical Center. The administrative leadership team of this Department is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Asset Manager. This staff position report directly to the Senior Administrator of Radiology.

The Asset Manager assumes a leadership role in all aspects of managing our numerous and diverse capital equipment and space requirements. The person in this role is responsible for operating and capital budgets, the Radiation Safety and Safety program, Supply Chain, information technology and infrastructure, and productivity. The Asset Manager also assumes a key role in our Quality Management program. We are seeking a candidate who is capable of success in a matrix organization, and has demonstrated success in developing and maintaining relationships across modality and departmental lines.

To qualify for this position you must possess the following:

1. Graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Licensed by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. CPR certification is appreciated.

2. Bachelor's degree in business or health sciences is required. Equivalent experience could be considered if validated by Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) certification. Master's degree is preferred.

3. A minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience within a Radiology Department. Five years of which must be in a supervisory or leadership position.

4. Proficient knowledge of medical imaging, related terminology and technical knowledge within the area of specialty (e.g. CT, MRI) is required. Knowledge of various types of radiology equipment, particularly those of the area of specialty, where applicable, is required.

5. Proficient organization and problem-solving skills are required to develop/implement efficient work processes, and to successfully resolve difficult, conflict-oriented situations for the common good.

6. Positions held should include experience with quality assurance activities and programs and equipment service interactions.

7. Demonstrated ability to supervise, monitor daily work activities, evaluate, train and motivate the performance of subordinate professional and technical staff.

8. Knowledge of radiology principles and practices, routine biomedical engineering, radiation safety, computer usage and mathematics to analyze statistics and calibrations.

9. Ability to operate, or to understand the operation of, radiology equipment.

10. Ability to work with potentially hazardous/contaminated materials using the appropriate "Universal Precautions" and other safety procedures.

11. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are required to work with diverse levels of management, clinical staff, patients, and external vendors and visitors.
