The Respiratory Care Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the daily shift including making daily work assignments, monitoring activities of clinical staff to ensure assigned work is completed and adjusting workloads as needed. Additional activities include running required operational reports and productivity analysis as well as participating in data collection for quality assurance activities. The Shift Supervisor monitors staff performance and makes recommendations on employee annual evaluations. The supervisor serves as preceptor to all new hires.



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires minimum of Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care from and AMA approved respiratory care program. RRT credential required. Bachelor's degree preferred.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requires a minimum of five years of critical care/clinical experience. Prior management experience preferred.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
It requires registration by the NBRC and current Texas state respiratory care practitioner license and CPR provider. BLS instructor, ACLS instructor, and NRP instructor preferred.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Must demonstrate good presentation and communication skills and be able to maintain a good rapport with other disciplines throughout the organization. Must have computer skills at a level to utilize the functions of the department respiratory care information system.
