Case Cart Technician Location/ Company: Moffitt Cancer Center (on USF's campus) Req ID: 3313 Cost Center: 12201 Sterile Processing Employment duration: Full Time FTE Amount: 1 Workdays: Mon-Fri Hours: 3pm-11:30pm Job Summary: Prepares case carts for surgery schedule based on surgeon's preference sheets. Provides strict control of inventory in an automated system (Lawson) through accurate documentation of stock issues, receivables and notation of inventory discrepancies and stock deficits. Knowledge, handling and delivery of surgical instrumentation and equipment to the operating room utilizing Impress System. Responsible for directing case cart and instrumentation support activities as assigned by Management. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required Training/Experience: a) Experience sufficient to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities of the position. b) Training which provides education in medical terminology, supply nomenclature & usage, and inventory management preferred. c) Experience with automated inventory control system preferred. d) Familiarity with and knowledge of medical supplies is highly preferred. e) Knowledge of exchange cart and par level methodologies preferred. f) Familiarity with O.R. routines, infection control principles and regulatory practices. Additional Information: g) Must be able to meet deadlines, function with routine interruptions and determine job priorities. h) Demonstrated competency of Word, Outlook and Windows environment. i) Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate and problem solve effectively in a timely manner. j) Consistently pays close attention to detail in verifying descriptions, quantity and correct units of measure is required. k) Ability to function independently. l) Ability to communicate well with others and follow written and verbal instructions. m) Ability to interact with other employees and team members. a) Physical and emotional stamina appropriate to job function. b) Must have the ability to stand and walk through entire workday, together with the ability to lift, carry and unload supplies as required with general high level of physical activity on a daily basis c) Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
