Palliative Care Pharmacist Resident - Tampa,
FL
The overall objective of the Psychosocial
& Palliative Care Program is to improve the quality
and effectiveness of pain assessment and management
through an interdisciplinary approach to patient care.
This person will have an excellent knowledge
base in basic aspects of patient care, drug pharmacology,
and clinical pharmacy practice. Their scope of activity
includes a learning program that allows for supervised
direct patient care to inpatients, outpatients, and
home care patients through collaboration with the attending
Psychosocial & Palliative Care Program physicians
and to other members of the interdisciplinary health
care team. Additionally, they will support the clinical
pharmacists in providing drug information and education
on pain and palliative care though in-service and training
programs. Furthermore, the Psychosocial & Palliative
Care Program Pharmacist resident will participate in
oncology, pain and/or palliative care research as deemed
appropriate by the Psychosocial & Palliative Care
Residency Program Director and Management. They will
support the clinical pharmacists in on-call coverage
and with precepting pharmacy students on rotation with
the Psychosocial & Palliative Care Program.
