Department of Medical Affairs, Quality, Safety & Risk Management Regular full-time Vancouver, British Columbia The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) plans, manages and evaluates selected specialty and province-wide health care services across BC, working with the five geographic health authorities to deliver province-wide solutions that improve the health of British Columbians. With a compelling track record of success, you'll take leadership and initiate the development of a comprehensive safety/quality/performance improvement program inclusive of the analysis and trending of data related to initiatives. Reporting to the Corporate Director, Medical Affairs, Quality, Safety & Risk Management, you'll provide strategic oversight of proactive and reactive patient safety activities including root cause analyses and failure mode effects analyses. You'll also be responsible for the selection and management of Department staff deployed to the Agency, and for providing direction, supervision and support directly to Quality & Patient Safety professional and support staff, and consultants as necessary. In addition to your Masters prepared in Nursing, Health Administration, related health discipline or other relevant area, plus a minimum of 7 years of clinical practice and professional management/leadership, you have excelled in team-building, facilitation and are able to work collaboratively across functional units and in a matrix organization to achieve common goals. You possess solid knowledge and experience in current quality and patient safety literature, programs and tools specific to the health care industry and Quality Management, Performance Improvement, Patient Safety and Accreditation standards. A highly skilled communicator, your outstanding interpersonal skills are coupled with a demonstrated ability to promote an environment that motivates others and maximizes the potential of individuals, and negotiates effectively to resolve conflict. A demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and teach senior leaders, medical staff, managers and staff in a positive manner, rounds of your profile.
