position at Providence Hospital & Medical Center
and St. John Hospital & Medical Center.
St.
John Health, one of the largest health systems in Southeastern
Michigan, has an immediate opportunity for a BC/BE
Pediatrician specializing in Intensive Care, to join
the medical staff at Providence Hospital & Medical
Center (a 459-bed teaching facility) and the new Providence
Park Hospital (a 200-bed facility opening July 2008).
The Pediatric unit at Providence has been open for
10 years and has maintained 2-3 Pediatric Intensivists
and a few other pediatricians, pediatric hospitalists
and family medicine residents to staff the unit 24/7.
The Department of Pediatrics and the Division
of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at St. John Hospital
and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan (a 685-bed
tertiary care teaching hospital) is seeking a full
time BC physician in Pediatrics, BE/BC in Pediatric
Critical Care Medicine. Ideal candidate should have
superior clinical, teaching, and interpersonal skills
caring for patients ranging from newborn to 21 years.
This six-bed PICU has a special interest in acute respiratory
failure, pediatric shock, head injury, and the medical
management of pediatric trauma. PICU admits approximately
450-500 patients per year and is dedicated to improving
the health and safety of all children in Southeast
Michigan.
Candidates should be comfortable with
ventilated pediatric patients/pediatric post-operative
care. Standard SJH employed benefits and salary package
is available. Candidates must be BC in Pediatrics and
meet requirements for medical licensure to practice
in the State of Michigan.
