Working within the framework of our HR values, and reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, you will oversee strategic planning and operational requirements for two distinct services: Injury Prevention and Health Promotion. Your mandate will be the provision of organizational leadership, expertise and creativity in the delivery of workplace wellness and safety as you lead a diverse team providing services in the areas of occupational health and safety, ergonomics, claims and case management, employee wellness, health promotion, healthy workplace, early return to work programs, medical case management and employee family assistance. You will direct ongoing reviews aimed at identifying and assessing health risks/occupational hazards, and you will work to develop, implement, and evaluate health and wellness policies and programs that are in compliance with collective agreements as well as regulatory and statutory standards. In this leadership position you are the key point of contact for the PHSA on initiatives regarding workplace wellness, health and safety issues and promotion of these strategies and programs. You will also oversee the definition, supervision and completion of a wide variety of programs through the direct supervision of staff and the alignment and integration of employee wellness and safety throughout the PHSA. Importantly, you are an integral part of the overall Human Resources structure as you collaborate on strategic planning initiatives within this dynamic division. You bring a level of education, training and experience equivalent to a university degree a relevant discipline supplemented by ten years of progressively more senior experience with a minimum of five years' gained at a leadership level. Your knowledge and understanding of organizational wellness and occupational health and safety principles, theories, concepts and practices is supplemented by thorough familiarity with the range of professional disciplines and specialists who manage delivery of services to customer groups and support the development of multi-disciplinary strategies. Knowledge of legislation and regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety is a must, along with the ability to adapt and be flexible to changing priorities and demands. Your supervisory skills include the ability to establish courses of action for yourself and others that are results oriented and support a focus on continuous learning. You must also bring a background of progressive, creative and innovative thinking as it relates to program development in a changing and evolving health care environment.
